Laura & David 16.09.2017
Laura is one of the most beautiful brides I’ve ever met, inside and out! I will never forget the moment she stepped out from behind the curtain in the changing room in McElhinneys Bridal Rooms. I’m used to seeing brides find their dream dress from my years working in McElhinneys and I truly believe that every bride is beautiful but every now and then someone will take your breath away. And Laura took my breath away. The Hayley Paige 'Monroe' dress was made for Laura and was so perfect on her I even sent a snap to my bestie Hayley Paige to show her just how stunning it was on Laura – and of course she agreed! Laura and her gorgeous Mum where both beaming and there was no doubt that she had found ‘The One’.
Following an introduction by a mutual friend Laura knew that David was keeper and hearing about the surprise proposal he planned, she is one lucky girl! Knowing that Laura loves The Merchant Hotel in Belfast, David told Laura he had booked her and her Mum a Spa break at the fabulous hotel. Excited to head to the Hotel Laura got away from work early and sent her poor Mum and David into a panic thinking she was going to arrive before he had time to set up the surprise! David had everything planned for the evening but had to dash out of work to pick up the ring and get to the Merchant before Laura (Anyone else think this would make a great film?!). The rain scuppered the Rooftop proposal that David had planned but the magic happened when he got down on one knee and proposed with a beautiful Solitaire ring.
After enjoying their engagement, the couple got into full planning mode with the help of Lauras Mum. Laura chose a very elegant and stylish wedding that mixed contemporary touches with classic elegance with the most stunning flowers from Scarlet and Crimson. The colour theme was very simple with tones of Ivory, Gold and Mocha with the Men in classic Black Tie.
Its no surprise that Laura and David chose the stunning Merchant Hotel as their perfect Wedding Reception Venue and exchanged vows in the historic surroundings of Hillsborough Castle with Rev. Fred Cowan conducting the personal ceremony. Guests where lucky enough to enjoy prosecco and nibbles while exploring the amazing surroundings of the Castle followed by a cocktail reception on the Rooftop of The Merchant – and the rain didn’t spoil it this time!
